Sydney's First Female Emeritus CREI Consultant
Dr Nalini Gayer is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and an accredited sub-specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility for more than 20 years. She is the only CREI-accredited female fertility specialist in Sydney to focus on all areas of infertility, obstetrics, endocrinology and adolescent gynaecology.
Training and Background
Dr Gayer obtained a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Madras in India in 1971, followed by her AMC Certificate from the Australian Medical Council in 1990. She achieved Fellowship of RANZCOG in 1997 and obtained a Masters degree from the University of Auckland. She trained as an obstetrician and gynaecologist at Westmead Hospital and went on to specialise in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI).
Pioneering Achievements
She is the first female to be awarded Emeritus Consultant at Westmead Public Hospital. She has worked as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and IVF Specialist for over 22 years and has delivered more than 6000 babies both in private and public hospitals.
Areas of Expertise
She performs advanced laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery with special interests in endometriosis, PCOS and hysteroscopic surgery for uterine abnormalities and fibroids. She is also a proficient endoscopic and microtubal surgeon.
