About
Dr Amie Hanlon - Brisbane Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with Fertility Expertise
Dr Amie Hanlon knew she wanted to be an obstetrician and gynaecologist from the moment she saw her first baby being born during medical school. Since joining Greenslopes Obstetrics and Gynaecology in March 2016, she has been providing personalised care to her private patients while serving as QLD Director of the Australasian Menopause Society.
Training and Background
Dr Hanlon studied medicine at the University of Queensland, obtaining her MBBS in 2006. She completed her obstetrics and gynaecology specialty training at hospitals throughout south-east Queensland, including a year of training in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. She continued training at Gold Coast Hospital, Toowoomba Hospital, Mater Hospital, and Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
Areas of Expertise
Dr Hanlon's interests span all areas of obstetrics and gynaecology, with a special interest in adolescent gynaecology and menopause management. For fertility concerns, she recommends seeking specialist help after 12 months of trying to conceive (or six months if over 35). Her approach involves investigating possible causes of reduced fertility and offering initial management or specialist referral.
