Dr Brad Armstrong is an obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 24 years of experience, based at Greenslopes Private Hospital in Brisbane. He is the Director of Obstetrics at the Greenslopes Private Hospital Maternity Unit and a founding partner of Greenslopes Obstetrics & Gynaecology. He also practises with Care Fertility and IVF4family for patients requiring assisted reproductive technologies.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland, where he was awarded the Prof. John Pearn Medal for Excellence in Clinical Teaching in 2018.

As a father to three children, Dr Armstrong understands how important pregnancy and family-building are. He is known for his patient-focused approach to obstetric care and his commitment to quality outcomes throughout the fertility journey and pregnancy.

Training & Background

Dr Armstrong grew up in Brisbane and trained locally at the University of Queensland medical school. His final years of medical school and residency were spent in North Queensland, and he commenced specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Cairns Base Hospital in 2001. During his training, he worked throughout Queensland from Brisbane to the Torres Strait, receiving his FRANZCOG fellowship in July 2009.

In 2009, Dr Armstrong opened his private practice and quickly established a reputation as an obstetrician focused on quality care. He set up the first private practice in Brisbane to offer postnatal home midwife visits to patients. He subsequently helped establish the new maternity unit at Greenslopes Private Hospital and co-founded Greenslopes Obstetrics & Gynaecology—Brisbane's most comprehensive obstetric practice—offering on-site physiotherapy, diabetic education, dietitian services, obstetric physician, endocrinology and paediatric services.

Dr Armstrong delivered the first baby at Greenslopes Private Hospital in February 2013, a milestone for one of Australia's largest veteran hospitals.


Research & Teaching

Dr Armstrong is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and continues to educate medical and midwifery students. He was awarded the Prof. John Pearn Medal for Excellence in Clinical Teaching in 2018. He has published research including an article on pregnancy management in women with Friedreich's ataxia complicated by pulmonary embolism.
