About

Dr Denise Nesbitt - Newcastle's First Female Gynaecologist with 20+ Years Fertility Experience

Dr Denise Nesbitt is one of IVF Australia's leading fertility specialists, based in Newcastle. As the first female gynaecologist/obstetrician in the Hunter Region, she has helped over 1,000 families grow during her 20+ years of fertility experience, offering continuing care from conception to birth from a uniquely female perspective.

Training and Background

Dr Nesbitt studied medicine at the University of New South Wales before returning to her hometown of Newcastle. Recognising a need for a female gynaecologist in the area, she undertook specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology. Before moving to private practice, she spent 12 months in Darwin working in indigenous health, including developing the specialist gynaecology clinics now serving remote communities in the Northern Territory.

Current Practice

Dr Nesbitt is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with the team at Newcastle Private Hospital, working with Hunter IVF to offer infertility treatments for patients requiring assistance with reproduction. Her focus on continuing care means patients can stay with her from fertility treatment through pregnancy and birth.

Why Patients Choose Dr Nesbitt

Patients value Dr Nesbitt's extensive experience, her unique perspective as the region's first female specialist, and her commitment to continuity of care. Her background in indigenous health demonstrates her dedication to accessible healthcare for all communities.
