Dr Marcela Martin is a fertility specialist at IVF Australia with over 15 years of experience helping people become parents. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and holds a Master of Reproductive Medicine (MRM) from the University of New South Wales.

Dr Martin also lectures at UNSW in reproductive medicine and is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing her to support a diverse range of patients in the community.

Her unique combination of fertility, genetics, and surgical expertise allows her to support patients with a wide range of fertility concerns, including couples with complex genetic conditions. She works closely with a specialised team of genetic counsellors and medical geneticists to provide individualised, evidence-based care.

Training & Background

Dr Martin grew up in Wollongong, NSW and obtained her medical degree (MBBS) from the University of Sydney. She also holds an Honours degree in Genetics (BSc Hons) from the University of New South Wales.

She trained across several leading NSW hospitals including St George, Sutherland, and the Royal Hospital for Women, building extensive experience in obstetrics, gynaecological surgery, and fertility medicine.

Teaching

Dr Martin lectures at the University of New South Wales in reproductive medicine.
