Dr James Brown is a Specialist Gynaecologist with a special interest in Fertility Medicine, consulting and operating across North Western Sydney. He provides IVF treatment through Genea at Bella Vista.


Dr Brown has spent the last decade training and working in hospitals in Sydney's west, including Westmead, Blacktown and Auburn Hospitals. He is the Clinical Co-Lead for Patient Safety and Quality for Women's Health across the Western Sydney Local Health District, and co-leads the Specialist Menopause Service in South-West Sydney.


Before medicine, Dr Brown began his career as a radio journalist and marketing professional. His role as General Manager at a laser eye surgery practice piqued his interest in clinical medicine, prompting him to pursue a medical degree. He is currently completing a PhD in Health Economics at UTS.

Training & Background

Dr Brown graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sydney in 2014, along with a Master of Public Health. He commenced specialist O&G training in 2017 and achieved his FRANZCOG Fellowship. He continues to lecture and supervise Masters students at the University of Sydney and is an elected member of RANZCOG advocating for Australian women's health education and policy.
