Dr Jeffrey Persson is a fertility specialist and Clinical Director at IVFAustralia's City clinic, with over 25 years of experience. Born in Sydney, he trained in Amsterdam before returning to Australia to specialise. He is one of the few reproductive endocrinologists in Australia qualified to perform microsurgical sperm extraction for men with azoospermia (zero sperm count).
Training and Background
Dr Persson completed his medical training in Amsterdam, Holland, then returned to Australia for specialist training. He obtained his Masters in Reproductive Medicine, his FRANZCOG in 1995, and his CREI with a thesis on genetic aspects of reproductive failure. His vasectomy reversal training began in 1994 under leading urologist Dr David Golovsky. He lectures at the University of Sydney and is actively involved in clinical research.
