Leading Sydney Fertility Specialist with Dual Fellowship Training
Dr Karen Kong is an expert in the fields of infertility and reproductive surgery. She is the first Australian gynaecologist to have double broad certifications in CREI (Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility) and AGES (Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery), making her uniquely qualified in both fertility treatment and surgical management.
Training and Background
Dr Kong completed her dual Fellowship training at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne and St George Hospital in Sydney. In addition, she holds a Masters in Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales. She is a conjoint lecturer at UNSW with a major commitment to training medical students and junior doctors in her specialty.
Practice and Affiliations
Working in partnership with IVFAustralia, Dr Kong provides a full range of fertility treatments and state of the art assisted reproductive technologies including IVF, embryo selection, sperm donation and genetic testing. She consults at CBD, Alexandria, Kogarah, Burwood and Haymarket clinics, and performs surgery at Alexandria Day Specialist Hospital, Royal Hospital for Women, and St George Private and Public Hospitals. She is also Co-Founder of Life Fertility Clinic Sydney.
Areas of Expertise
Her particular interests include the management of fibroids and endometriosis both medically and surgically, PCOS and recurrent miscarriage. She continues to deliver babies at St George Private Hospital, enabling care from conception to delivery for her patients.
