Dr Neerja Kamal serves as Clinical Director at Flinders Fertility and is a senior lecturer at Flinders University. She is highly regarded for her compassionate and caring approach to patient care and firmly believes in individualised treatment, acknowledging that every patient's situation is unique.
Training and Background
Dr Kamal completed her medical education at Awadesh Pratap Singh University in India, obtaining a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery in 2010. As a surgical gynaecologist, she operates at both Flinders Private Hospital and Ashford Hospital.
Clinical Expertise
Dr Kamal is experienced in all aspects of fertility management and performs clinical procedures including oocyte retrieval, embryo transfers, IUIs, and surgical sperm retrieval. Her interests include IVF, management of endometriosis, premature menopause, ovulation disorders, PCOS, male factor infertility, preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), recurrent miscarriage, and fertility preservation.
Research
Dr Kamal has a keen interest in quality improvement in IVF units and has completed a study looking at the role of Vienna consensus in improving clinical and laboratory outcomes, in collaboration with Prof Bill Ledger.
