Professor Roger Hart is the Medical Director of Fertility Specialists of WA, National Medical Director of City Fertility, and Professor of Reproductive Medicine at the University of Western Australia. He is an internationally recognised expert in infertility and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), ranked as the top-rated expert in Female Infertility in Australia (2013-2023) and 8th internationally.

World-Class Training

Prof Hart graduated from medical school in the UK in 1989. During his training, he completed a 2½ year fellowship in gynaecological endoscopic surgery (awarded his doctorate of medicine MD), a 1½ year fellowship in reproductive medicine, and graduated from UK training in 2002. He completed his Australian CREI certification in 2007 and his MBA at UWA in 2022. He is one of only two specialists worldwide who have completed the infertility examination process in both the UK and Australia.

Research Excellence

Prof Hart has over 250 papers in the fields of infertility, IVF, PCOS, IVM and endometriosis. His programs at FSWA for ovulation induction and in vitro maturation of oocytes (IVM) are recognised as world-leading. He received the Ian Johnston Award from the Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand in 2023 for excellence in infertility research.

Public Health Leadership

Prof Hart is head of the reproductive medicine service at King Edward Memorial Hospital and is responsible for the provision of public fertility services across Western Australia. He is Deputy Head of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at UWA.
