Dr Russell Dalton - Medical Director and Fertility Pioneer
Dr Russell Dalton is a highly qualified and experienced gynaecologist with over 25 years of experience in reproductive medicine. As the founder and Medical Director of Ballarat IVF and now Medical Director of Create Fertility, he has established multiple fertility clinics to bring quality care to regional communities. His caring and empathetic approach has helped countless individuals and couples navigate the challenges of infertility.
Training and Background
Dr Dalton graduated from Monash University with Honours in 1986 and commenced specialist obstetric and gynaecology training in 1990 at Monash Medical Centre and the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne. His training included particular focus on fertility treatment including IVF and laparoscopic surgery. In 1994, he and his family moved to the UK, working at St John's Hospital in Chelmsford, gaining valuable knowledge and skills before returning to Ballarat in 1995.
Leadership and Clinics Founded
Dr Dalton established Ballarat IVF in 2002, the Ballarat Endometriosis Clinic in 2004, and with Michael Bardsley established Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ballarat (OGB) in 2007. In 2021, he worked with the team to establish OGB Surfcoast and Surfcoast Fertility, their Geelong-based sister fertility clinic. He maintains a strong focus on teaching medical students and specialist trainees.
